Would recommend the Che, Leaphorn mystery series by Tony Hillerman and now Anne Hillerman. Che and Leaphorn are police officers with the Navajo Tribal Police. We lost Tony Hillerman a few years ago, but fortunately for us fans, his daughter Anne took over. My parents met on the Navajo Reservation in the 1930's and when Dad retired he took a job with the Navajo Utilities Association and moved back to the reservation. I've seen or been to many of the sites, so eloquently described by Mister Hillerman.

My attention span has declined, too. Maybe too much time on the internet? That said, last year (my first full year of retirement) I managed to get through about 30 books. I think what has helped the most is getting most of my books from the library. If I know I have to get it back in three weeks - sometimes only two weeks if it's an ebook - then I do the math and know that I have to try to get through x pages per day.
